British Wheel of Yoga Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Teaching Yoga (RQF)

Tutor: Kari Knight
Dates: 10th October 2020 to 11th December 2021
Time: 09:00 – 16:30
Location: The Self Centre with a week study retreat in Västmanland, Sweden

The aim of the Certificate Course is to educate and enable learners, both professionally and practically, to teach yoga asanas, breathing practices and relaxation to clients that have a wide variety of capacities, capabilities and experiences. The course will equip students with an underlying knowledge and understanding of yoga principles and philosophy but students are also expected to continue to deepen their understanding and knowledge through personal practice and reflection.

The BWYQ Level 4 Certificate in Yoga Teaching (RQF) can be studied as a progression route on to the Level 4 Diploma in Yoga Teaching (RQF); which is comprised of the first 5 units of the certificate and then 3 further units to achieve the Diploma.

The BWYQ Certificate in Teaching Yoga is being offered by tutors Kari Knight and Elaine Fletcher as a well-structured course which allows space and time to develop your skills without pressure. Weekend study is well placed throughout the fifteen months, and the group will be small, fixed at a maximum of twelve persons, to ensure that you receive the utmost professional guidance. The course includes a seven-day study residential in Sweden, set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings in mid-Sweden’s Västmanland county where you will be able to enjoy intense study, good camaraderie and restorative times to enjoy the environment and nature.

Kari Knight has many years of experience, with specialism in cancer care and the therapeutic application of mindfulness and self compassion and has been running study residentials and retreats in Sweden since 2011. This is the first teacher training course Kari will be running for the BWY and is confident that, co-hosting it with Elaine Fletcher, it will be delivered to the highest standards. www.kariknightyoga.com Elaine Fletcher is well known to the Eastern region having run many successful diploma courses in Essex and has many years of experience. Elaine’s approach to asana has been influenced by working with well-respected teachers Peter Blackaby and John Stirk who draw on their knowledge from osteopathy to encourage practice that focuses on the natural alignment of the body. http://www.elainefletcheryoga.co.uk/  Elaine will retire from teacher training following this course and her wisdom and experience will support Kari in her first teaching Certificate.
