What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a clinical health science that aims to rehabilitate and improve a person’s ability to move and function. It helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce a risk of injury or illness in the future.

Taking a holistic approach the physiotherapist involves the patient directly in their own care, focusing on physical methods to treats conditions such as chronic or acute pain, soft tissue injuries, arthritis, physical impairments and gait disorders typically of musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and neurological origins, using massage, heat treatment and different form of exercise.
