Tai Chi Chu'an is an ancient Chinese system of exercise, meditation and self-defence. With it's gentle and harmonious movements it is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness. it enhances flexibility, respiration and balance, whilst utilising the internal power of the body for healing and meditation and self awareness. Our teacher Martin studies the 103 step Yang Style Tradition and has had first hand tuition from the Yang family from China.
Tai Chi has been shown to improve joint mobility, balance and co-ordination and is highly recommended for falls prevention. It is also a great de-stresser, balancer and strengthener for all parts of the body - for more info on the benefits see the Health Research Info page here

Chi Flow Class
Gentle Qi Gong & Tai Chi- a moving meditation
Teacher: Andy Rees
Tai Chi and Qigong work through relaxation, concentration and alignment.
The movements, breathing, and focus found within both systems are designed to give the body and the mind tools by which these three goals may be accomplished.
Undoubtedly the key process of all is relaxation. If we are tense it is difficult to concentrate and even more difficult to align our bodies with what we want to do. With Tai Chi and Qigong practice we learn to mentally and physically dissolve tension and enjoy relaxed movement. This learned skill helps us to sharpen our focus and attune our body alignment.
The purpose of Tai Chi and Qigong is for our qi (energy) and our blood to flow more clearly into all parts of our body. The outcome is a calming, nourishing and healing environment for all parts of the body, mind and emotions.
In the sessions you will learn short, effective Qi Gong forms to increase your relaxation and your general health and wellbeing. Also a short 4 directional tai chi form that is easy to learn and easy to enjoy.
In essence the sessions will be fun, relaxing and leave you feeling better than you arrived.
