De-stress and Energise Days “finding the balance”

NUTRITION AT WORK

There is widespread recognition, both in the scientific community and in the population at large, that dietary habits have a profound impact on long-term health. What is less well recognised, but just as relevant, is the more immediate impact dietary choices can have upon day-to-day performance.

Their working environment influences the eating habits of most workers, often quite markedly. Sometimes this influence can be beneficial. Often, it is detrimental.

Employers who care about the health, performance, morale and well-being of their workforce will be interested in helping them to make healthy choices.

This interactive, educational session on Nutrition at Work will:

  • Explore the ways in which your working environment influences (for good or ill) what, when and how you eat and drink
  • Discuss the effects of diet on both long-term health and day-to-day performance at work
  • Examine the risks associated with common workplace nutritional hazards, and how best to eliminate or manage these
  • Provide practical dietary advice on how to proactively use nutrition at work to help manage stress, boost performance, enhance well-being and improve long-term health

Within this, we are likely to discuss many health conditions and common food-related issues such as stress, IBS, allergies, fatigue, headaches, infections, chronic disease and more….

Attendees will go away with tips they can put into practice immediately and probably also with ideas for proactive workplace initiatives, which may yield even greater benefit over the longer term.

Who should attend?

Relevant to anyone who eats and works, this session can benefit every one on a personal level. It may also be of particular interest to those working in Occupational Health, Health& Safety or HR who therefore have an interest in employee welfare. Optionally, as part of the session, or as a separate discussion group, we can explore in more depth the concept of ‘nutritional hazards’ in the context of the employer’s responsibilities under H& S legislation to identify, assess and manage risks in the workplace.
